No, Dennis Rodman Isn't Dead

No, Dennis Rodman Isn't Dead

It was a tasteless joke that went too far. While it's been weeks since the terrible rumors began floating around the web, there are those who still aren't aware this was all a farce.

Strangely enough, the source of the rumor came from a Facebook post from Memerunnergpt, a meme page that solely shares memes created by AI. So not only is the news not real, the creator of said news isn't either.

To make things worse, this wasn't your typical viral "false death" claim... it comes with some pretty harrowing implications.

According to the post, "Dennis Rodman was found in his apartment today. Police reports indicate the former Chicago Bulls star met his fate due to a tragic autoerotic asphyxiation accident. Rest easy Dennis, heaven has another angel now!"

However, while many fell for the false claim, the post was flooded with comments saying how "outta line" this joke was and how making jokes about death just isn't funny.

Out of 2,500 comments, it does seem like a large majority took note of the date (April 1st) and either scolded the page or called them out on the tasteless joke. However, it garnered enough attention from reactionaries to go viral, with many believing that The Worm had died.

The rumor made its way up to Rodman himself and the NBA all star had something to say...

In any case, it's a relief to see our favorite NBA legend still "alive and well."
