Chuck Daily, former Pistons coach, made a bold claim: that Dennis Rodman is the greatest rebounder he's ever seen. Is he correct?
Dennis Rodman definitely made a name for himself as one of the greatest players in NBA history, having won five NBA championships in 14 years. But what stands out about The Worm is that he still holds records in defense and rebounding -- records that remain unbroken to this day.
So, it stands to reason that Chuck Daily may be onto something.
Chuck Daily even said that his abilities have surpassed those of NBA legends such as Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain.
Chuck saw first hand when Rodman played for the Pistons and, during his tenure with the team, he won two championships.
Rodman and Chuck had a well-documented kinship during this time, despite Rodman's off-the-court antics that consistently put his career in jeopardy. Rodman was treated with respect and Chuck decided to provide him with guidance -- a sort of "father figure."
That said, it makes sense that Chuck Daily's assertion that Dennis Rodman is the greatest rebounder in NBA history might just be correct.
